Hi Sanford - Just wanted to update this thread since Alan and I met you at the Dayton Nationals and saw your car. I think Alan confirmed that you had a #s matching OG transmission in it, making your car a real W-32, correct?

I've checked and it is a matching numbers engine. Not sure how to check if its a W-32 though and haven't looked for build sheet yet. It is a two owner car, title from last owner was 45 years ago in Michigan.

Are the SX emblems pinned to the fenders from factory? I mean since the car was repainted is there anyway to mess up the placement of emblems unless of course they're glued on?

The car was built in Lansing therefore you will not find any sort of build sheet that you would be able to read. If it actually had a production code sheet, I would be able to decipher that for you but it is highly unlikely. When you see them emblems in the wrong spot, that is just the tip of the iceberg for what I am seeing. There are so many things wrong or missing , I question the experience of the people who even built it.

I wonder if it is a real W-32 as stated in the ad? It will be interesting to see what you find once you get the car.

And each side is off, one more than the other. I don’t see that paint code in the 70 olds options sheet so I’m thinking it’s repainted from orig and maybe they did some work on fenders and messed up. Either that or they didn’t k ow what they were doing when trying to make a clone

Thanks for the observations. I’m going to check for a build sheet and #’s. You know what happens sometimes people think it’s better to switch things up. Think the motor was pulled at some time the engine compartment looks too fresh and that ls prob when they did those engine mods. Any other help is appreciated thanks again

Could be nothing, but the SX emblem is offset a bit too much from the Cutlass emblem.

I hope there is some type of supporting evidence that the car is even an SX because what is shown in those 3 pictures is not a very original car. In reviewing the advertisement, it is clear that the car has been pieced together form several different sources. I highly doubt it is anything they claim it to be. If it was in fact the original engine, why would anyone change the intake and carb, valve covers and exhaust manifolds? Not to mention several other things aside.

Just wondering if anyone knows this car I bought at auction off sonicbidder was listed at the Vault in Jackson. Says it’s matching numbers but I don’t se the garnet red color is the 1970 spec sheets from Olds so I’m thing it’s not original color. Supposed to be 2 over car one long time 45 yr owner. Any thoughts or knowledge about the car would be appreciated, I’ll prob get it in a week or 2 and check out the cowl tag
