1971 Cutlass SX convertible on ACC
Author Last Post

I agree, it should’ve been left as it was, original color and interior. There was a convertible in riverside California a few weeks back that was also supposedly a one owner low mileage all original car blah blah blah. all the emblems were missing off the fenders, the trunk didn’t have the emblem on it either. People lie, it’s what they do

I agree, lots of after market add-ons and I'm more of a purist. Now it is "make offer" with an asking price of $50k and looks like in the comments someone is trying to pick it up at the $37,500. Bodes well when you see an SX garner that kind of money especially if you already own one. It did remind me to check my stated value with Haggerty.

I am not a fan of that heavy undercoating as well. I also suspect that current bid of $37,500 is an owner submitted bid to protect his reserve as the bidding was increasing in small increments up until that bid was dropped over 4K higher than the last, and then the reserve was lifted. With less that an hour to go, we'll soon find out. I also hope nobody from this group is bidding on this car thinking that the ad is truthful in any sorts regarding the cars originality. Although visually appealing, the car is far from original and the ad description is blatantly filled with misrepresentation. It does have a very nice Thornton's reproduction hood and flapper assembly, although also the wrong base pan. In my opinion it should have been left as lime green car with its original green interior and white top.

I’m not a fan of the copious amount of under coating on the floors, Frame and gas tank

$33,100 the morning of 8/17/2022 and the reserve is still on. Two plus days to go in this auction.

Just saw this today and its at $25k with 6 days to go. Looks like a way to go to hit the reserve.

Pretty much the same as my 71 convertible except I still have the factory hood and so no ram air. I have a bench seat and manual windows. One interesting item is I do not have the fender supports under the hood. Is that something someone may have added over the years to be more 442 like?

Follow-up edit - I just answered my own question looking at the spotter tips. :)

Front fender braces on hardtop 455 (not found on convertibles)

Looks like an addition on this car since a convertible.
