General Cutlass SX455 Q&A

SX Seat Question

Thank you , that helps a lot.

I also noted the non 10 bolt rear end on this car. When I went back and read the description I noted the rear end had been changed to Ford.

I appreciate the help in my search.

Hello Jeffrey,

Good luck on your quest.

The two pictures you've shown are pretty simple - the Brown convertible with the "plain" seats are not correct. Clearly, they've been reupholstered and are not in the original/correct pattern. Same with the door panels - not correct.

The other picture shows the correct original pattern for the 1970 Cutlass Supreme bucket seats, with the buttons. The door panels in this picture with the woodgrain are also the correct and original pattern.

Additionally, the convertible has the wrong wheel well moldings for the Cutlass Supreme body. The correct moldings should stop at the bottom of the body side moldings.

Feel free to continue asking your questions here. There's plenty of knowledge about these cars on this site.

You will also find a lot of good information in the "Tech & Spec" and "Codes, Docs, Articles" sections of this site.

I am a new member and trying to absorb as much information as I start my quest for a SX.

There is a SX convertible for sale that was previously on BAT but did not sell. Brown with Black Chevelle stripes. It's now back for sale on Classic.com. I think it is in the register. VIN 342670E140549. This car has plain black bucket seats with plain black doors. The build sheet shows A51 STRATO BKT ST. A car I'm researching, a hard top, on the window sticker shows A51 STRATO BUCKET SEATS, but these are bucket seats, with buttons on them. Woodgrain on the doors. Both cars are 1970. What am I missing? Thanks!
