NEW Restoration Questions

Restoration Shops
Greg Smith

Who are some full (capable of frame off) restoration shops that are knowledgeable and specialize in Oldsmobile A bodies? Only share shops that you would recommend.

Thanks

Greg

Gary Goodman

Greg,

I don't have first-hand knowledge, but here are a few that have done highly-regarded Oldsmobile restorations. There may be others that I am not aware of.

Thorntons in PA

Garner in FL

MIller Auto in IN

Gary, Thanks

I feel Thornton Muscle Cars is first class, but they will not even take a waiting list ... too busy! I do not know Thornton Autoworks reputation?

I appreciate the other shop names.

Is anyone familiar with Badgley's Garage and/or Carshine Restorations in Michigan?

Ive seen Carshine Bob's work at MCACN - Jimmy McKeague's blue 1970 W-31 was off the charts magnificent. Badgleys have been doing Hurst/Olds and other Oldsmobiles for many years as well and have a good reputation.

I've seen several Garner and Thornton-restored W-cars at MCACN, Nationals and other events. They're always very, very nice. I'll recommend Bernie Karhoff in Lima, OH too. I've judged a couple of cars that he has done at MCACN and elsewhere and he has the eye for detail of an Olds specialist too.

Miller's AutoCare - as mentioned below by Gary - brings top notch W-car Oldsmobiles to MCACN each year too. I could easily recommend them (Keith Stockberger). All of these folks have a strong Facebook presence on the Olds pages, making it easy to reach out to them.

Thanks Terry, I have talked with Keith and like what I hear.

I appreciate your comments.
